24 Karat Gold Tour, Ravinia Festival

Stevie rocks Ravinia (Night 1)

On Saturday night, Stevie made her debut at the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, IL, the first of two shows this weekend.

During the show, Stevie expressed her concern and sympathy for the recent hurricane victims. She encouraged the crowd to donate to the appropriate support organizations.

About Ravinia

Ravinia, North America’s oldest music festival, stands today as its most musically diverse, presenting over 140 different events throughout the summer. These concerts run the gamut from Yo-Yo Ma to John Legend to the annual summer residency of the nation’s finest orchestra, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

The 36-acre park is nestled in a gently wooded area that makes it an enchanting place to experience music. Guests can bring their own picnics or eat at one of the park restaurants. Children up to age 15, high school and college students are admitted free to the lawn for classical performances.

“So this little bitty song is one more thing to say dreams come true — they do. What did I know? I was so young and I just like, just right off the top of my head, wrote it down, put it in my pocket, put some guitar on it. So anyway, you can do it. This is ‘Landslide.'”

“Stevie Nicks was on fire last Saturday night. She eased into the evening creating smoke right from the start with her voice strengthening and the energy building as the night progressed.” (Carole Kuhrt Brewer / Chicago Now)
