RECAP: Uniondale, NY – Nassau Coliseum

On Thursday night, Stevie Nicks performed at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY (on Long Island) — the 48th and final show of the 24 Karat Gold Tour. Chrissie Hynde joined Stevie onstage for one last rendition of “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.” After the song, each member of The Pretenders came out onstage to give final everyone hugs.

During The Pretenders’ set, Chrissie dedicated “Hymn to Her” (from their 1986 album Get Close) to Stevie.  “That was for Stevie. This is the last night of our North American tour.”

“The crowd was aware of the fact that they were in the presence of a rock and roll countess. Her 24 Karat Gold tour stop at Nassau Coliseum earned an A rating.”

Since it began as a British rock band in 1967, Fleetwood Mac has undergone 19 iterations while steadily adding Americans and, most recently, a New Zealander to its line-up. • Fleetwood Mac brings old magic back to Perth Sunday, August 11, 2019
The soundtrack of my youth was eclectic. Seattle grunge bands. Alan Parsons Project. Chemical Brothers. Tchaikovsky. Spice Girls. The Doors. Radiohead. But it was my dad who introduced and captivated my ears with the signature sounds of the 60s and 70s. The Beatles. Pink Floyd. America. Simon and Garfunkel. And of course Fleetwood Mac. It […]
